The Hotel Rigele Royal is located in the centre of Obertauern, next to the "Skiworld" sports shop and the "Süd" ski school. The post office, bank, tourist information centre and doctor are all close by.

ChildcareMunicipal kindergartens are only for use by local residents. The "Petzi Bär", located at the Haus des Gastes (Tel. 20045-24), offers childcare for visiting children up to age 6. Ski kindergartens for visiting children at the ski schools.

Lifts and ski slopes
28 ski lifts are located around the outskirts of town, creating a one-of-a-kind ski area - the RED TAUERNRUNDE and the GREEN TAUERNRUNDE. The ingenious system offers the opportunity to clamp on your skis and then ski the entire Tauernrunde, before finally returning to your original starting point. If you are looking for a change of pace, there are also very enticing hills outside of the Tauernrunde itself. This allows you to get the most out of an array of snow, lighting and temperature conditions and heighten your skiing pleasure even more. The lifts can be reached on skis from any area hotel. You never have to turn on your car for the entire duration of your stay. Extensive ski bridges have been built to assist in crossing the main highway.
Total passenger capacity: 38,250 per hour. Operating schedule: from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., until 5:00 p.m. in the springtime. The Achenrainbahn and Kirchbühellift remain in operation 30 minutes longer every day, in order to carry passengers up to the pass heights.
95 kilometres of slopes, of which 59 % are easy (blue signs), 37 % intermediate (red signs), 4 % difficult (black signs). Clearly visible slope markers (at each major slope intersection) make it even easier for skiers to get their bearings within the ski area.
Lift parking
A parking area of some 24,000 m
2 is available for the use of our daytime visitors. BAN ON NIGHT PARKING from 10:00 p.m. until 7:00 a.m..
Obertauern has no night-time parking available for motor homes! The closest night parking is available in Radstadt or Mauterndorf (campgrounds).
Night skiing
Night skiing is possible every Monday and Thursday from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. at the Edelweiss lift.
Tickets good for 1 ½ days or longer are accepted.
